Murder at Amapas Beach

Trouble always seems to find Amanda Pennyworth, the American Consul to the resort city of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. While on an excursion to nearby Amapas Beach in the company of a tour group from the United States, one of the guests, Danielle Overman, a beautiful and enigmatic woman, is brutally murdered, and Amanda is called on to help find the killer. The Dragon’s Staircase

This first book in the Kyndall Family Thrillers grabs you and doesn’t let go until you reach the last page. And even then, it leaves you wanting more. This is a fast-paced read that leads you on many twists and turns. Just when I thought I had it figured out, Grey and Archard would take another fork in the road leaving me almost breathless. The Kyndall brothers watch over sister Alexa, but sparks fly as soon as Craig enters the picture and very quickly she has a fourth great looking hunk looking out for her well-being.

The Radio Murders

When I spoke with Ms. Marshall for TheAuthorsShow.com, we talked about The Radio Murders and I learned that hosting radio shows was in her DNA. That experience shows throughout her story. Murder, however, is the theme of this book and Homicide Detectives Nick Winston and Pat Strom are a team. As opposite as two people can be, these two have a very comfortable working relationship until Jasmine (our radio show host) arouses the interest of both. Jasmine plays on both sides and Nick, the randy detective thinks he’s in love.

Presidential Intentions

This book could not have come to me at a better time. Wood is so spot-on with a lot of what he says, and while I am still unsure which side of the fence he leans toward, his writing is excellent, the characters are exceptionally well-defined, and the story is one you won’t want to put down. Pay close attention to the dates at each chapter beginning. If you don’t, you’ll find yourself losing the storyline. I loved Samantha and Wood does a phenomenal job of speaking in her voice.

Woman in Blue and White

Every now and then, this bookworm comes across a book that is so spellbinding and different, it takes my breath away. That’s how I reacted to Woman in Blue and White. The author’s ability to describe settings made me almost believe I was walking along the cobblestone streets of Santorini, and the avenues of Paris. I fell in love with the characters and will admit to talking to Zoe about getting a backbone. And just like Zoe, I feel in love with Ivar and felt a strong desire to knock Marc around a bit.

Mystery at Windswept Farm

I had not read Wendy Sand Eckel’s work prior to being gifted Mystery at Windswept Farm, but I’m now a big fan. This book had a lot more depth than the usual cozy mystery; the plot was well thought out and I loved how it was interwoven with the Day Lily Café and small town life. I loved the characters; they were well-defined and their roles were very clear throughout. There’s a lot going on in this story and yet you are never confused as to who is doing what. I would strongly recommend Mystery at Windswept Farm (and Ms.
