The Ways Our Bodies Age

Katherine Regina schlaerth

Staying young forever is not an option for human beings. Even "super-agers", those who are still going strong into their 100's , eventually shed their human coil. With the general demographic aging we are now seeing , excluding Sub-Saharan Africa, worldwide, people need to know more about what bodily changes they can expect over time.
As a family physician trained in both pediatrics and geriatrics, I've seen a need for a book which discusses the physiology of aging in easy to understand language, and made more interesting through the vehicle of personal stories .
This is a bit of a "how to" book, because preparation helps to deal with the challenges of growing older, and preparation presumes knowledge. Though genetics plays a big role in aging, the process of growing older is predicated upon one's lifelong history. That's why there are "blue zones". In fact, what happened to your mother when you were a fetus may affect you way downstream. Hence the creation of this book.
