Ageing Safely in the Home of Your Choice
In North America, 90% of seniors 65+ live in their own homes, be it a house, an apartment, or a condo, with some within a retirement community. The impact of COVID-19 on seniors highlighted that nearly 100% would try to do everything they can to remain in their chosen home.
Ageing Safely in the Home of Your Choice highlights ways to eliminate or mitigate risky situations, often at no cost, found in a typical residence. In many cases, it is arranging, adapting and doing things differently to increase accessibility, comfort, control, and quality of life. Chapters cover the exterior and the room-by-room interior, as well as valuable tips for day-to-day living. The reader will also discover nine practical tools and techniques helpful in identifying risks and possibly implementing suggestions. Note that the book is currently in English. However, translation into French for publication is ongoing and planned for the end of the year.
