Soroptimist International

Soroptimist International, a global volunteer organization established in California in 1921, aims to enhance the lives of women and girls through various programs. This mission aligns seamlessly with Give a Book, Get a Smile’s (GBGS) goal of promoting reading by increasing access to books. Consequently, this partnership is a natural fit. As we begin our journey into Europe, we have teamed up with the NGO Soroptimist International (SI) Austria to introduce our GBGS initiative to the continent.

October 2024: Our project in Europe is off to a great start! The local school in Fürstenfeld, Styria, Austria, has received five books from the "Felix and Booboo" series by Canadian author Dr. Nicole Audet. The event, organized by the local Soroptimist chapter garnered attention from the local press, and the book is now available for purchase at the Buchhandlung Buchner bookstore. See photo below.
