Mercy's Happenings Book Cover

Mercy Mae East is ten years old, and a summer on her family’s ten-acre farm in Stockbridge, Georgia, is about to teach her more than she expects. There are fruit trees, gardens, chickens, and bulls—and a daddy who takes her into the woods to show her how easy it is to get lost, and how to find the way home. She helps with the real work and learns that accidents can come quickly, to her and to a pet she loves. There is a week at Grandma’s with six cousins, the proud day she is trusted with the mower, and the afternoon she stands up to a ninth-grader bullying younger kids on the school bus.
Mercy's Happenings is a collection of six true childhood stories from author Terrie Fahning, told through Mercy Mae East—named for God’s mercy, her grandmother Mae, and the promise that Jesus will return from the eastern sky. Each story closes with “Let’s Talk About This!” questions for families, grandparents, churches, and homeschoolers. Warm and plainspoken, it turns ordinary farm days into lessons
