Today’s featured interview is Robert Arthur Neff speaking about “After All: A Gathering Storm of Romance, Revenge and Espionage in Postwar South America”
Two years before the end of WWII, two gifted German Jewish musicians—one a Holocaust survivor who barely escaped the infamous Theresienstadt concentration camp with his life, the other the daughter of a prominent Wehrmacht general—having fled the catastrophic Nazi conquest of Western Europe, where they had been hunted and hopelessly separated, reunite in Brazil. Dieter Meister, barroom piano man extraordinaire, and scintillating chanteuse Sofie von Siegler, the subjects of Robert Arthur Neff's first historical novel, Über Alles, seize a second chance at freedom and a life together.
But residual shadows from the war’s conflict soon darken the skies of their bright new world. Determined parties, from a fledgling American intelligence agency to Nazi hunter Simon Wiesenthal, relentlessly sniff out the trail of Sofie’s father, hiding out in South America. As the net draws tight around Sofie and Dieter, it’s impossible to tell who can be trusted. And the United States, after having assembled a military force unparalleled in history and executed a remarkable strategy for victory, turns out not to be so well prepared for the war's aftermath.

Nick must decide if his friends are his friends and if his enemies are his enemies, all while protecting the woman he loves.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and over again, expecting a different result, so why should anyone believe that either the political right or the political left has a plan to solve the socioeconomic, legal, political (SELP) issues facing citizens around the globe when all they do is the same failing things over and over again? That's insane! The byzantine pineapple applies systems analysis and systems design methodology to propose a redesign of governmental SELP systems, including a new macroeconomic flat tax for the rising class of independents to implement. It is time to wake up from the matrix!

Currently playing: Greg Bentall speaking about “The Comforting Illusion: Lifting the Veil on Organized Religion”
So much of popular religion is simply a collection of ancient superstitions and old campfire stories. Even Pope Francis has told the Church that God is not a 'wizard.' God is not our ever-present nanny or 'fairy godmother' whose task it is to comfort and protect us, and to shield us from any danger, discomfort, or disappointment. So what, then, really is the point of religion and spiritualism in a modern world?
Exploring the concept of religion from an objective, sociological standpoint, 'The Comforting Illusion: Lifting the Veil on Organized Religion' aims to somehow reconcile our modern worldviews with ancient spiritual perspectives.
By examining religion's direct and indirect effects on practically every part of 21st century society, be they good or bad, 'The Comforting Illusion' pulls aside the curtain of our comfortable rituals and compels us to consider the complex facets of a culture that spans millennia.
